The cooler overnight temperatures have seen the growth rate start to slow, especially on the tee boxes. Could all members please keep all pull buggies and carts off the tees and repair all divots. This will help to protect our tees as we go into the winter months, where we will have little to no recovery from any damage.
Last Monday, the greens had a small 5mm hollow core pulled out of them. They were then top-dressed with 10 tonnes of sand and had a calcium amendment added. There is still a small amount of sand coming to the surface, but we expect that it will have all gone by the weekend.
In the coming weeks, the green staff will start to address low-limb branches around the course. The aim will be to get more sunlight into shaded areas, which will help protect from winter damage. This will continue all through winter.
