Play Ready Golf

I would like to again congratulate all members on the improved pace of play in our competitions over the past four months. When we commenced this programme, it was taking the last group in the field 5 hours to complete a round and we have reduced this to 4 hours 20. As we move into the shorter days it becomes even more important that we continue with this programme and reduce the round times to ensure all members are able to complete their rounds.

I would like all members to concentrate on keeping up with the group in front by playing ready golf and be mindful of the time it will take groups behind you if you don’t. This will require your group to

  • Be on the tee ready to play at your tee time.
  • When on the tee have the shorter hitters tee off first
  • Where possible move ahead to your own ball and get ready for your next shot.
  • Play a provisional ball if you think you have a lost ball.
  • Play your next shot if you are ready and your partners are not ready to play.
  • When on the green have two members of the group putt out and move to the next tee. It is not necessary to stand on the green holding the pin whilst all members of the group putt out.

Course Care

James and his team have been working extremely hard to continuously present the course in great condition and prepare it for the cooler months so members can continue to enjoy a great course all year round. With the end of the growing season upon us, it is that time of year when we ask our members to take extra care of the course and ensure they

  • Repair any pitch marks on the greens.
  • Repair all divots on the fairways.
  • Keep push buggies away from tees and greens.
  • Drive carts in a way that does not damage the course ensuring they don’t drive through wet areas on the course and remain on pathways wherever possible.

Happy Golfing
